Assistant Director of People and Culture
circa £135,000
The Greater London Authority (GLA) plays a vital role in shaping many aspects of life in London. The organisation supports the Mayor in delivering a programme backed by an annual budget of over £20 billion, impacting the lives of Londoners every day.
We are committed to being an organisation that is equal, diverse, representative, and inclusive. Creating an environment where everyone can thrive is central to our values. We want all our staff to have a consistently positive experience of working at the GLA, feeling supported to progress, valued for their contribution, and a genuine sense of belonging.
As Assistant Director of People and Culture, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for delivering our people strategy across the organisation. You will play a critical role in building the workforce capability, culture and leadership needed to enable high performance and deliver for London.
Operating in a complex and politically accountable environment, you will act as a trusted adviser to the Corporate Management Team and Chief Officer and will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, including engagement with the Mayor’s Office and the London Assembly where appropriate. You will bring strong strategic leadership, sound judgement, and a commitment to evidence‑based decision-making, building effective relationships across the GLA Group and with our trade union partners.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact function at the heart of London’s government, helping to create an organisation where people can do their best work and deliver for the capital.
